Current Tax Year
The overall ISA annual limit (also known as allowance or subscription) for the current tax year is £20,000. This tax year will end on 5 April 2026.
Please note, This year, the start of the new tax year (6 April) falls over a bank holiday weekend. Because of this, processing times for ISA subscriptions may be longer than usual.
To help avoid any issues with your ISA allowance, please take note of the following key dates:
If you want to use your ISA allowance for the current tax year (ending 5 April)
Please ensure we receive your subscription by Friday 27 March*. Requests received after this date may not be processed before the end of the tax year.
If you want to subscribe for the new tax year (starting 6 April)
Please wait until Wednesday 8 April before sending your subscription request. This will help ensure your payment is applied to the correct tax year.
Submitting requests outside of these timeframes may mean there is a risk that:
your subscription is applied to a different tax year than intended, or
you exceed your annual ISA allowance.
If you’re planning to make a subscription, we recommend doing so as early as possible to help avoid any delays.
* To confirm your identity, we complete electronic checks and in some cases we may require you to send us additional documentation. In this case all required information and supporting documentation must be received by us by 27 March 2025.
