Taking your security seriously

Security and fraud

How we're making banking safe for our customers, information, tips and resources to help you avoid falling victim to fraud and/or scams.

If you suspect that you may have been the victim of any kind of fraud, or you notice any suspicious transactions on your Cynergy Bank account(s), please do the following:

  • During normal business hours, contact our Customer Services team.

  • Outside normal business hours:

    • Send us a Secure Message through Online Banking with Potential Fraud as the subject; or

    • Text “FRAUD” followed by your User ID (e.g. FRAUD 12345678) to +44 758 8715 716. This text message must be sent from the main mobile number associated with your account.

When we receive your notification, we will immediately suspend your access to Online Banking, for your security. We will begin investigating your concerns on the next working day.

If you have a joint account, the other user(s) will still have Online Banking access to the account. If there is reason to believe their log in details could also have been compromised, please ask them to report the potential fraud, in the same manner.

Debit card

If your debit card has been lost or stolen, or if you are concerned about potential fraud on your debit card, please contact Customer Services.

Cheque

If you are concerned about cheque fraud, please contact Customer Services. You may also request to stop a cheque using Online Banking. Follow these steps:

  1. Log in as usual

  2. Go to the ‘Account services’ tab

  3. Select ‘Stop a cheque’

Suspicious contact

If you receive a suspicious email that claims to be from us, please forward the email to customerservice@cynergybank.co.uk . Then delete email from your computer.
