Cynergy Bank today announces that it has been awarded the ISO 14001 for Environmental Management System (EMS), after having previously been awarded the Carbon Neutral Plus award for achieving net-zero CO2 emissions by balancing carbon emissions with carbon reduction.
ISO 14001 is an Internationally recognised standard for Environmental Management, published by the International Organisation for Standardization (ISO), the world’s largest developer of voluntary international standards. It specifies the requirements for reducing waste and consumption in combination with an increase in recycling, ultimately leading to long-term cost savings. It ensures compliance with current legislation and environmental regulations and certifies effective and efficient management of environmental risks.
Carbon Neutral Plus certification, awarded by the Carbon Footprint Standard, is achieved by only 10% of organisations in the UK. It requires that companies balance their carbon emissions with carbon reduction, achieving net-zero CO2 emissions.
Greg Jones, Chief Operating Officer said: “Cynergy Bank is committed to playing a leading role in the protection of our environment for generations to come. We are proud to achieve our Environmental Management System accreditation, which combined with our Carbon Neutral+ status, enables us to provide our customers with specialist banking that has a sustainable footprint.”
